Species at Risk Inventory and Assessment
Since the company’s inception, Species at Risk studies have been a cornerstone of Gebauer & Associates' work portfolio. Some key projects have involved developing recovery strategies for rare wildlife species, including the White-headed Woodpecker in the Okanagan, and research studies on various species such as the Great Blue Heron, American Avocet, and Sandhill Crane.

Our expertise also extends to surveying species such as the Pacific Water Shrew, Oregon Forestsnail, and Red-legged Frog, along with general Species at Risk assessments for federal properties including the Columbia National Wildlife Area. Before focused species field surveys, we undertake detailed desktop analyses to identify potential rare species within project areas, ensuring informed and effective conservation efforts.
