Environmental Monitoring

Environmental monitoring is a key component of several significant projects Gebauer & Associates is currently involved in. For the Meadowbank Project, long-term wildlife monitoring studies investigate and assess the impacts of the mine on a variety of wildlife species groups including caribou, Arctic predators, waterfowl, raptors, and songbirds. For the Sea-to-Sky and Port Mann Highway 1 projects, wildlife monitoring includes Bald Eagle, Great Blue Heron and raptor nesting success, population changes of birds, amphibians, dragonflies and vegetation in compensation areas, and habitat suitability for federally endangered species such as the Pacific Water Shrew and the Oregon Forestsnail.
